When you press ENTER you will be presented with a screen inwhich you may edit the CD-ROMs that this security level has access to,in addition you may edit the ratio and download limits that must bemaintained by a user that has that security level.*NOTE* If you have Link Sec Levels in the other option menu set to yes then this will corrolate to your BBS settings for that particular security level. And if you ever change your BBS's security levels than you must press ALT-U to update RomDoor's security level file. Modify CDs' Info╪╩≈:This lets you change the CDs name and drive letter that the CD has beenassigned to. Press tab to move between the fields. If that particularCD-ROM has a volume label than enter in the volume label in that field.Then when RomDoor loads up it will check to see if that particularCD-ROM disk is in the drive. Modify Current Area≈Allows you to change the name of the file area or to put in the pathsfor the file area. Make sure you select what CD the file area belongsto, if you forget to set that the the user will not be shown that filearea. If you have given the CD a specific drive letter you may omitthe drive letter from the path i.e. \GIFS\NATURE instead of I:\GIFS\NATURE*NOTE ABOUT PATHS*RomDoor allows up to six paths for one file area, if you need more thanyou may separate the paths using semi-colons ';'. For exampleI:\GIFS\NATURE;I:\GIFS\GRAPHICS;I:\GIFS\PICTURESThis can be useful if files for a particular file area aren't in onelocation on disk.You may also use this screen to edit which groups this file area belongsto, just press F2 at the "Groups" field. Remove File Arearea≈÷ When you select this you will be prompted whether to remove the filesfrom that file area, if you press "Y" then MakeRom will delete all thefiles that were in that area. This is useful if you make a mistake whenyou are importing file areas. Import Into Arearea≈ßRead in a text file directory listing, and import it into the file areathat you are on. IMPORTANT Make sure that the text file has nothing butfiles on the lines, that means NO blank spaces, and NO two linedescriptions. (Yet, although if they have a | representing the start ofthe description on each extra line RomDoor will no mess up.)After importing a area make sure that the file area has the correctinformation with either logging into RomDoor or loading up RomEdit. Set Max File Areasa≈¡ Select the max amount of file areas that you are going to have. Thiswill not destroy the current file areas unless you select a numberlower than you highest file area. Edit Other Infoeasa≈; Use this to set the other information vital to RomDoor's correctexecution. The available options are:Network Type: The network that you are using, choices are NONET : You don't have any network or multitasking software installed. SHARE : If you will be running your system with DOS's SHARE command. Use this if you have any networking software other than NOVELL. NOVELL : If you will be running your system with NOVELL.Flow Control: If you are running a high speed modem, or an error correcting modem, then choose "Hardware Flow Control, (CTS/RTS)". If you have a standard 2400 or an (ouch) 1200 baud modem, then choose "No Flow Control". Other options are available, such as "Software Flow Control, (Xon/Xoff)" as well as "Both Hardware and Software flow control", but they are rarely used.DataBase Path: Just the directory that contains ROM.DAT and ROM.IX, if left blank RomDoor will default to the current directory.Default Extension: This is the file extension that will be checked when a download is requested with no file extension and the file (without the extension) is NOT located. It allows callers to specify download files without an extension if many or all of the available files have a common extension.External Protocols: This reads in the external protocols that you have specified in MakeWild and allows you to select which ones will be offered from RomDoor. Don't put any two-way protocols i.e. BiModem or HsLink since RomDoor will not check for uploaded files.BBS ID: This is for the naming of the area listings that the user creates when they make a list. Enter the most significant letters of your boards name. I.E. Illusions enter in ILLUSION NOTE This feature is only available in the registered version of RomDoor.Copy Files To HD: If this is set then when a user starts a download of a file, RomDoor will copy to the Node Work Dir and download the file from there, after the download it will delete the file. This is extremely useful for high traffic systems. Note RomDoor will not copy the file if there is not enough disk space.Use Group Names: Set to "YES" if you want to group your file areas together I.E. Games, GIFs, Adult. This is extremely useful for the user if you have a multi-CD-Rom-Drive system, because users don't have to wade through all the file areas each time the want to look for a specific type of file. Read "Setting up Groups" in the RomDoor documentation for more information on groups.Write to WC! Logs: Set this to "YES" if you want RomDoor to "log" to WC!'s activity logs.Link with BBS: Set this to "NO" if you want to keep the security level information separate from your BBS's. I.E. you want the user to have a 1:1 download ratio in RomDoor, but a 2:1 download ratio in your BBS. Edit GroupNameseasa≈╡This feature allows you to group certain file areas together. This isuseful when you are planning on having multiple CDs online at one timewhich have similar file areas. I.E. You may choose to group all thefile areas that have Nature GIFs in them, or you may choose to groupall the communication fileareas together. For these options to go ineffect you need to set the USE GROUPNAMES option in the "Other Options"menu to YES. DirToDat Helpeseasa≈ä ENTER: Enter current CD-ROM text file recordINS: Enter a new CD-ROM text file recordDEL: Delete current CD-ROM text file record Text Filenameeseasa≈░ Enter in the filename that has on the first line a sample file recordfrom the CD-ROM that you are going to import. i.e. It has the filename, size, date, and description. Identification Name≈√ This will become the name that you will reference the text file recordwith. It will usually be the name of the CD-ROM that the text file isfrom. i.e. If you were defining the CARRS CD-ROM you would put CARRS as the identification name. Text File Definition≈jTo complete this step of the RomDoor installation you need to tellDirToDat where the certain fields are located in the text file thatyou are planning to import. You should be presented with a screenthat has the first six lines of the text file that you specified. Ifthere is a header in the file, then you may use the up and down arrowkeys to reposition the current lines. Once you are a a good positionin the file, use the right and left arrow keys to move the "File Name"arrow. If it is in the correct location, press INS to add a new field.If there is a size field in the text file then select "Size", press theTAB key, you will notice that the arrow marker moves to the second arrowon the "File Name" arrow. Press it again to move the first arrow on the"Size" arrow. Note that you can change the length of the "Size" arrowfrom 8-10 characters long. WC2Rom Helpefinition≈∩Keys: ENTER: Press ENTER to mark where you want to begin moving the areas.About WC2Rom:This program has been provided free along with RomDoor archive. If youalready have a CD-ROM installed in WC!'s file database then you shoulduse this. This will allow you to move the files and file areas from WC!to RomDoor's database saving you the time of installing them. When youuse this you are offered whether you want to delete the files from thesource after they have been moved to RomDoor, if you choose this thenunderstand that it will take quite a long time to do this process. Thereason deleting takes so long is because WC2Rom first deletes the recordfrom the database then it has to delete every index key for that record,that could be 4-10 keys just for one record. If you decide to useRomDoor then you will probably end up deleting the files from WC!eventually and note that WC2Rom is a bit faster than WCPro. If youdecide not to delete the files from WC! after copying then the processshould be faster.How to use WC2Rom:Use the arrow keys to move to the area you want to start the move at andpress ENTER. Make sure you know the number of the area that you want toend at before you press ENTER, if you don't press ESC and find it.Enter the number of the ending area, then you will be presented with ascreen listing the areas that are currently in RomDoor. Press ENTER onthe area that you want to start the move at. (*Make sure that you haveset the Max File Areas higher than the last area that you are going tomove.*) Now press "Y" to confirm the area numbers. Next you will beasked whether you want to delete the files from WC! after they have beenmoved. (NOTE that includes file areas) After that you will be askedwhat CD-ROM number the file areas are on, if this is your first CD-ROMthat you will be importing then you should enter "1" if it is yoursecond then you should enter "2". Notice the numbers should corolatewith the numbers set in MakeRom when you press ALT-C. RomEdit Helpfinition≈ö ENTER: Edit current recordALT-S: Change sort method between area number and filenameINS : Insert new recordDEL : Delete record from database Edit Record Windowon≈░ Use this window to create to edit a file record. If the filename andpath are correct you can press F3 to have RomEdit check the disk and getthe date and size of the file. Find Window Windowon≈ª Use this to jump to a certain area number or file name, depending on howyou have the database sorted. To change the sort method press ALT-Sfrom the main screen.
